Ryzen 7 7800X3D replaces the previous generation AM4 Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which has become the best choice for PC DIY gamers to build a gaming PC, but how much are you willing to spend on the processor for a gaming PC?

The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D processor to be unboxed is a 6-core, 12-threaded processor with a 96 MB L3 cache, also using the TSMC 5nm FinFET process; the I/O Die is a TSMC 6nm FinFET process, and the maximum operating temperature (Tjmax) is only 89°C. The maximum frequency is only 4.7 GHz, and it was officially launched on September 5, 2024, and is the cheapest 3D V-Cache processor in the AM5 Ryzen 7000 series with MSRP. Launched on 2024/9/5, it is the cheapest 3D V-Cache processor in the AM5 Ryzen 7000 series with MSRP, but it is currently only available in the US and China, so you'll need to pay some cross-sea fees to buy it.

The MSRP for the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D is $299.99 USD, which translates to around $9,600 TWD, almost the same as the 9600X in Taiwan, and around $9,900 TWD in China.

∆ AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D (6 Cores 12 Threads) - AM5 Ryzen 7000 Raphael 3D V-Cache Series.

∆ R5 7600X3D Unboxing! Inside the package, there are only the processor body and stickers.

The processor in this unboxing was purchased by the author's friend, aka Lin Kou, from Micro Center in the U.S. The total cost including shipping and tax is US$323.24+32.9=356.14, which is almost NT$11,396 at 1:32, which is about the same as a second-hand 7800X3D from the Taiwan market (provided that someone is willing to sell it), so it might be cheaper to buy the 7600X3D from China. Maybe it's cheaper to buy the 7600X3D from China?

The 7600X3D, which is a price-performance model, is less sophisticated than the 7800X3D in terms of inner box packaging. There is only a plastic box to protect the processor body, and there is no complimentary cooler in the inner box for gamers to purchase on their own. However, the author suggests that buying the AMD Wraith Prism Ghost cooler online is enough for you to use it, after all, the pre-set TDP is marked as 65W, which is more or less the same as the pre-set TDP. MAXON ONE includes Cinema 4D, Red Giant Complete, Redshift, ZBrush, Universe, and Forger, and is a powerful tool for creating animation effects, motion design, motion graphics, film-grade portraits, and game art scenes. Each of these software programs fits together to provide a complete visual solution for creators.

Cinebench 2024 uses Cinema 4D's default Redshift rendering engine to test GPU and CPU performance. If multiple graphics cards are used to run Cinebench 2024 tests, the software utilizes multiple cards for the rendering tests at the same time, and Cinebench 2024 performs multiple rendering tests with six times the amount of computation when compared to Cinebench R23. Compared to Cinebench R23, the Cinebench 2024 multi-threaded rendering tests show a six-fold increase in the amount of computation for scenes. This reflects improvements in CPU performance and the higher hardware requirements that multimedia workers must now meet.

∆ CINEBENCH R23.

∆ CINEBENCH 2024.

Next up, the 3DMark series, one of the most benchmarks for gaming scores, was used to compare the theoretical results of the same graphics platform with different processors through a series of tests with different picture quality and different GPU APIs.

3DMark CPU Profile This test will measure the performance of MAX, 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 threads respectively, while the performance of 16 threads and above is more for 3D rendering or audio/video professional work, most of the mainstream DirectX 12 games can refer to the score of 8 threads, while the score of 4 and 2 threads are related to the old games developed with DirectX 9.

∆ 3DMark CPU Profile.

In addition, the author has also used the commonly used game performance simulation test 3DMark Fire Strike、3D Mark Time SpyWhen tested with NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti 8GB graphics card, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D scored 26461 physics points in Fire Strike, a DirectX11 GPU API contextual game simulation test at 1080p, and 9136 CPU points in Time Spy, a DirectX 12 GPU API contextual game simulation test at 1440p. In terms of total average fps in the 3A gaming category, which emphasizes on the storyline and graphic performance, the 7600X3D is 5.2% stronger than the 7600X, and 3.9% weaker than the 7800X3D in the 3A gaming test. The 7800X3D is weaker than the 7600X by 5.2%, while the 7800X3D is weaker than the 7800X3D by about 3.9%. Although the difference in the 3A game test is a little bit bigger, the R5 7600X3D loses out to the R9 7900 and the R5 9600X in this comparison, which means that the frequency and the number of cores seem to be more important for the 3A games.

After looking at the tests conducted by other foreign media, the difference between 7800X3D and 7600X3D would be even more obvious if it was paired with RTX 4090, but... who would buy a 60k+ graphics card with a 10k+ processor for their computer?

Temperatures and power consumption are pretty good, and with the AMD Wraith Prism stock Faith Ghost heatsink, it's a pretty good deal in theKurokami Dialog: GokuThe maximum temperature during the gameplay of _Black Myth: Wukong is only 74.8°C and the power consumption is only 67 W. That's why the author said that buying an AMD Wraith Prism online is enough, because it's enough to use with the 7600X3D and it has the original Faith look.

Going back to the less important rendering and professional performance part of the R5 7600X3D, although it is not important for gaming gamers, but still a little bit, as usual, based on the past performance of the 3D V-Cache processor, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D is a little bit weaker than the original Ryzen 5 7600X in both multi-core and single-core scores.

Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 RGB 2X16GB 6800 MT/s through AMD EXPO Profile (EXtended Profiles for Overclocking) and Intel XMP 3.0 (Extreme Memory Profile), allowing consumers to easily overclock from JEDEC DDR5 4800 MT/s to 6800 MT/s.
