Biwin has a separate official website for its brand positioning, and this module was also purchased by a friend from China and lent to me for a while, I wonder why my rich friends around me didn't share some of their money with me.

Origin code's vortex DDR5 debut offers four specifications: 6200 MT/s CL26 32 GB (16 GB x 2), 6000 MT/s CL26 (Dual EXPO Profiles, P2: 8000 MT/s CL36) 48 GB (24 GB x 2), 6000 MT/s CL26 192 GB (48 GB x 4), 6000 MT/s CL30 256 GB (64 GB x 4). GB (48 GB x 4), 6000 MT/s CL30 256 GB (64 GB x 4), each of these specifications is very interesting and high-end, but what interests me the most is the 48 GB (24 GBx2) dual-channel module specification, which actually includes both 6000 CL26 & 8000 CL36 dual profiles.

This set of module writes both 8000 CL36 and 6000 CL26 profiles at the same time, so that SPD has both high frequency and low CL value specifications, which can satisfy different needs of users with one set of module, but the process of QVL / sales / production cell selection may be relatively troublesome, the author believes that it is a new way of implementation after the dual-mode of XMP / EXPO or the built-in spare low frequency profile. The author believes that this is a new way to implement memory modules after XMP/EXPO dual-mode or built-in spare low-frequency profile.

However, there is one thing that will discourage people, unlike the lifetime warranty of most module brands, Origin code's after-sales warranty is limited to the product lifecycle warranty, that is, the warranty is valid until the specification is discontinued EOL, there are gray areas in this rule, for example, after the original specification is discontinued, launching a new specification that maintains the same timing but with an increase or decrease in voltage, will this be "product lifecycle warranty" and not offer a warranty? Product Lifecycle Warranty" as a reason for not providing warranty? This part is according to the original manufacturer and the agent said forget it, in addition to the fan module warranty is 3 years.

△ Origin code vortex DDR5.

△ Product ID design.

△ Product Features.

△ Box contents: Lens cloth, memory module, memory fan module, screwdriver and screws for fixing the fan.

The vortex DDR5 boasts that it is the world's first DDR5 memory module to incorporate an active triple-fan cooling system. I'm not sure if this has been done before or if it's been done by any of the smaller brands, but there's actually a Geil brand of DDR5 with an active cooling fan, and there's also the EVO V, which has a dual-fan active cooling system that also helps to dissipate the heat from the memory module.

The 4020 (40 x 40 x 20 mm) dual ball bearing triple fan module provides 22.5 CFM of airflow, and is secured by screwing into the locking holes on the memory heatsinks, but this increases the overall height of the unit, so be aware of the potential for interference in compact chassis, dual-tower air-cooling, and other installations where the height of the memory is a limitation.

Fan module requires a 4-Pin PWM power supply cable, it is a pity that there is no cable planning, so the actual installation will have a line placed there is a little ugly, look at the official website rendering of the picture I originally thought that the fan module frame will be metal, but the result is actually a plastic material psychological expectations of a little bit of a gap.

<img loading="lazy" Both specifications are very strong in terms of the current mass production memory module specification. Of course, there is no need to disable E-Core or use a thinned down overclocked system to get the best results, but rather, the test is conducted purely on a normal Win11 system with the full default processor, which is more in line with the direct usage scenario.

Testing Platform

Processor:Intel Core Ultra 9 285K QS
Cooler: Valkyrie E360 (full speed)
Thermal paste: Cooler Master MASTERGEL MAKER 40g (thermal conductivity 11W/mK)
Motherboard:GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS TACHYON ICE(BIOS version: F5)
Memory: Origin code vortex DDR5 48 GB (24 GBx2)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition 8GB
Operating System: Windows 11 Professional 24H2
System Drive: Plextor PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 2280 SSD 512GB
Game Dish:XPG GAMMIX S70 PRO PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 SSD 4TB
Power supply:MONTECH TITAN PLA 1000W

In the motherboard's BIOS, you can see that there are two profile overclocking profiles built into this memory, one DDR5 6000 MT/s CL26-36-36-76 1.45V for AMD EXPO and XMP 3.0, and the other one with a higher frequency of 8000 MT/s CL36-47-47-108 1.45V for AMD EXPO 2 Profile.

△ DDR5 Profile view.

由 CPU-Z To view the overclocking profile information written in the test platform and SPD HUB, the SPD page shows that this set of memory uses SK Hynix memory chips with Intel XMP 3.0 (Extreme Memory Profile), AMD EXPO (EXtended Profiles for Overclocking Profile.

However, only three Profile parameters are programmed in the SPD HUB, the rest are JEDEC timing frequency parameters.

△ Intel platform CPU-Z, open XMP / EXPO Profile 1 information.

△ Intel platform CPU-Z with EXPO Profile 2 information.

AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark It is mainly used to test the performance of processor caches and RAM. Introduction to HWBOT, the website for computer overclocking records

Before entering the memory frequency overclocking section, the author would like to talk to you about Overclocking overclocking. Some people may say: What's the use of overclocking? Some people may say, "What's the use of overclocking? It's useless if there's no game enhancement! The actual performance may not even be as good as the 6000 C30 if you overclock it now. How can you just post a frequency and be done with it?

OC overclocking is a tool, you can think of it as a mallet or a saw, etc. Tools can be used in work to hammer nails to fix things, or can be used to hammer metal to shape, but you haven't seen a carpenter scolding a goldsmith for using a mallet in that way, is it meaningless? Tools have many uses, and everyone uses them in different ways. Of course, they can also be used as weapons of offense, and overclocking can be used to increase performance or challenge your own records.

As for the challenge documentary type of overclocking, it is quite inappropriate to use the "performance enhancement thing to scrutinize". After all, you won't ask Olympic sprinters to run for you to buy groceries, and you will only recognize them if they are fast enough to buy groceries, right? You wouldn't ask a bodybuilder to lift hundreds of kilograms of barbells with no rest for 24 hours, would you? Overclocking is fun to challenge yourself or to improve your performance. The author hopes that more people in Taiwan will join the discussion on overclocking, instead of just pointlessly talking about "overclocking is useless now, there is no need for overclocking".

△ Gigabyte, one of the three major board makers, and Intel and Corsair were talking about overclocking in a recent documentary.

Let's talk about the overclocking record certification website HWBOT, which allows you to upload various overclocking records to achieve the ranking points system, and includes CPU, GPU, RAM, hard disk and other benchmark test records, most of the items are mainly focused on processor and graphics card tests, such as the familiar 3DMark or Cinebench related to dozens of items, and each item has its own rules and regulations. Each program has its own rules.

The one that I've been challenging more often recently is the Memory Frequency Hall Of Fame project, which is the same project that GIGABYTE HiCookie challenged in the video above.

Previously, someone asked me why my uploaded AM5 overclocking results do not have points, the main reason is that the author's highest record in the Memory Frequency Hall Of Fame project is the result of using the Z890, and the record of the AM5 has not exceeded the Z890, so I do not see the record of the AM5 in the list of the project, unless one day my A record exceeds the i record, I guess. Besides, the GLP (Global Rank) and HWP (DDR5 SDRAM Rank) audits seem to be manually reviewed by HWBOT staffs, and it seems that not every result has points.

△ Overclocking Record Website HWBOT.

△ There are many programs, there are different benchmark tests or frequency challenge programs for you to try, each program has its own rules, if you are interested in researching, you can click into the Rules link to take a look.

△ The Memory Frequency Hall Of Fame item about memory frequency needs to be verified by the CPU-Z verification file.

△ HWBOT individual related results.

△ If you think the frequency is nothing? specification of the vortex DDR5 debut, with two AMD EXPO profiles, 8000 CL36 and 6000 CL26, on a single module. You can decide whether you want to go for a lower CL value or a higher frequency.

The author has previously tested theIntel & AMD Dual-Platform DDR5 Memory Performance Measurements - High Frequency, Low CL ValueHowever, the high frequency and low CL value modules used by the author at that time were of different capacity, one was 3GB and the other was 2GB. This time, the same module was directly used to test on the Z890 platform, and the high frequency still maintains the same result, which means that choosing the high frequency specification is still the best way to have a better bandwidth performance and latency performance on the Intel platform.

Three fans of double ball bearing module in full speed operation, 8000 RPM rpm sound super loud, and no whole line planning after installation is a little embarrassing, but the temperature is really effective in reducing a lot.

The after-sales warranty is a "product life cycle warranty" strategy, which is quite controversial.
