2023 Newegg PC Builder Computer Assembly Competition

Hello everyone, I am the Ancient Psychic Two-Headed War Elephant! This time, I'm participating in the offline activities as a gamer again! Unlike the last overclocking battle, this time, it's the "Newegg PC Builder Computer Assembly Competition", which is a little bit easier for PC DIY gamers like us. After all, we all know how to install computers, right? After all, we all know how to set up a computer, right?

The event was organized by Newegg in the Clapper Studio on the 5th floor of Sanchuang. Although the author was born in Taipei and is a computer hardware gamer, to be honest .... I don't really come to Guanghwa or Sanchuang that often. After all, if I need parts, I can just buy them online, so I can't really find a reason to walk around to Zhongxiao and get wet in the sun, so maybe that's the difference between our generation and the past, isn't it?

The main rule of this competition is that within 60 minutes, 5 contestants have to complete the assembly of the hardware menu of their choice within the stipulated time and test it on the spot by themselves to boot up the computer into BIOS, and then they will be able to take the whole set of computers home.

The event lets participants decide on their own assembly menu when they sign up for the event, with some having many hardware options and some having very few, and the menu is then adjusted according to the manufacturer's inventory, which is why the 13700K with a single-tower cooler is such a strange configuration.
Here's what I ended up with this time

This contest is actually like an hour-long speed run. Usually, PC DIYers like us don't test how long it takes to build a PC, but this Newegg PC Builder contest is a chance for us to see how long it takes to build a PC.

I heard that most of the entrants chose the O11D and other common models, while the other finalists used the Sky Two or the Performance 1. However, most of the chassis I chose had been unboxed and I knew how they were built and how to install them, except for the Antec Torque Phantom, which I have always been interested in, but have never built ( for no other reason than because it was too expensive). I've never assembled one (for reasons that can only be explained by the fact that it's too expensive).

As a chassis junkie, it would be boring for me to choose an ordinary chassis for this challenge, wouldn't it? It would be a shame for my title and professionalism, so I chose to build a case that I have never touched before in an hour-long contest! Although everyone in the audience was wondering why I chose such a difficult chassis to build, I did it for the fun of it.
∆ This man doesn't know that he's going to flip his car in half an hour.
In fact, after the admission Newegg announced at the scene of the event, the original i7 13700K processor Intel upgraded to i9 13900K, the processor upgraded Why Not which player will say no it, not knowing that the steering wheel a hit directly out of the tail turn over ... ...
∆ Start loading.
∆ There's really no other advantage to this chassis other than its good looks.
In the end, it only took me about 33-35 minutes to set up the computer, come on, who am I? Power on! The screen lit up easily... Boss? Why didn't the screen light up? VGA and motherboard lights are on and working, chassis fan, VGA card, and tower are spinning, but the Z790 AORUS MASTER code debugging light is not showing at all, and the EZ DeBug light is always on CPU, remember what I just said about upgrading to a 13900K? In fact, the upgraded i9 processor provided by Intel is an "unofficial sales version" of the bulk processor, what is it... I won't say more about it so you can guess by yourself.

The EZ DeBug light was constantly on for the CPU and then the code debugging light didn't show up at all, so I was very intuitive and straight to the point of saying that it was definitely the processor that was bad, and I got a lot of feedback from the audience and reviewers about how to debug it, such as loosening up the towers for a reinstallation, checking to see if there were any bends in the pins on the motherboard, or that the RAM might not be supported by the QVL, so that's why it was screwed up, and so on, and it took me about 20 minutes of debugging before I was able to get everyone to believe me: "The CPU is faulty. It took me more than 20 minutes of troubleshooting to convince everyone that I was right: "The CPU is faulty", and then I went home and used another MSI Z790 to test the same thing, so I'm pretty sure it's a CPU problem.

I may not be able to install as many machines as the Ruthless Installing Robot (Installing Engineer) of the Original Price House, but I certainly have more than the average PC DIY player. It's the first time I've encountered this kind of thing when my processor breaks down, but it's a real cry when I encounter it in a competition. My personality doesn't like to be slowed down by the progress, so today, when I had this kind of hardware problem in the time limit, to be honest, my face was completely devastated and I was unhappy! I'm sorry to all the viewers and staff, my face is really fierce when I'm upset.

Luckily, Newegg was very kind and probably saw that I wasn't very happy and told me, "It's okay! It's ok if you install it first and the graphics card and motherboard light up.

∆ The coolest machine in the room worth about $100,000 but can't light up.
