Seasonic’s first cherry blossom-themed power supply, the VERTEX GX SAKURA, generated a lot of buzz for its design after its launch in 2024, I’ve used that power supply before, and this year, Seasonic has released an updated version: the FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3.1 SAKURA Limited Edition. As it stands, the new Sakura Limited Edition power supply appears to be available only in the 1000 W model.

This Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3.1 Sakura Limited Edition power supply, is positioned one tier below the VERTEX GX in the FOCUS series. The warranty period has been reduced from the VERTEX’s 12 years to the FOCUS series’ 10 years, but the price is correspondingly a little lower.

The all-new, patented “Cable Combs” are specifically designed to organize cables inside the computer case. It keeps each cable at a fixed distance and neatly arranged, not only making the interior of the case look cleaner and more professional but also simplifying the installation process by ensuring that cables for critical power modules—such as the CPU and graphics card—remain organized.

The barebones test platform was used to test the power supply with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor and GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS TACHYON ICE We paired the motherboard with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition 8GB graphics card for testing, We used OCCT’s dual-stress test for benchmarking to provide gamers with a reference. This Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3.1 SAKURA Limited Edition power supply, is positioned one tier below the first Sakura power supply, the VERTEX GX SAKURA, and its warranty period isn’t as long as its predecessor’s 12-year warranty; offering only the currently standard 10-year warranty, the new-generation FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3.1 SAKURA features a shorter 140 mm form factor and more refined white finish design details, among other advantages. It is also priced about 600 yuan lower (6,990 and 6,390 yuan).

The new model incorporates the OptiSink cooling design, which improves overall cooling performance and system reliability. More importantly, it’s still available only in select regions and in limited quantities.
