FSP has compiled the highlights of ATX 3.0 and 12VHPWR interface changes for your reference, including: CPU peak current increase, relaxation load adjustment, maximum voltage change rate, power-on time, overload transient output, and so on, and explains them in charts and concise ways.

∆ Relaxes the load regulation by changing the limit of the +12V circuit load regulation rate from ±5% to +5 ~ -7%.

∆ Maximum rate of voltage change, the +12V output connected to the graphics card increases from 100% to 300%.

One of the key points of the ATX 3.0 architecture and specification update is to raise the requirements for overload transient output POWER EXCURSION (also known as POWER SPIKE/PEAK POWER), which has been discussed by the community for a long time, and there have been cases since the earliest days of the AMD VEGA graphics card era, but Taiwan gamers really started to pay attention to this issue since the last generation of NVIDIA RTX 30 series graphics cards (and even related crow fans). Taiwan gamers really started to pay attention to this issue since the last generation of NVIDIA RTX 30 series graphics cards (there are even related crows fans).
The PCIE CEM organization has pointed out that the future POWER EXCURSION (100 microseconds) of new generation graphics cards may reach 3 times the sustained (1 second) power level, but Intel has finally decided to require that ATX 3.0 power supplies (in models with 12VHPWR connector) can provide 2 times the overall rated power in a very short period of time (100μs). STEPHEN EASTMAN explains that the reason for dropping the requirement to only 2x is that after many discussions with various power supply vendors, it was determined that 2x was a more cost-effective solution.
To summarize, if the power supply is equipped with 12VHPWR cables to pass the ATX 3.0 specification, models smaller than or equal to 450W must provide 1.5 times the overall rated power in 100μs (microseconds); models larger than 450W must provide 2 times the overall rated power in 100μs (microseconds) to pass the ATX 3.0 specification.
When purchasing a new power supply, gamers should pay attention to whether or not the power supply is labeled ATX 3.0, not just PCIe 5.0 labeling is sufficient, if only PCIe 5.0 labeling means that it only provides 12VHPWR cable, there is no 1.5/2 times the system peak prevention buffer (that is, there is no ATX 3.0 certification), which is a priority to pay attention to when purchasing a new power supply.

∆ Overload transient output POWER EXCURSION.
Hydro PTM PRO ATX3.0 is not too different from its predecessor Hydro PTM PRO in terms of appearance, although the appearance has never been the first condition for gamers to choose a power supply is that the length, width and height of 150 x 190 x 86 mm will occupy more than 19cm of the chassis to hide the cable space, gamers are recommended to check whether the chassis power compartment space is sufficient before purchasing. Before purchasing, gamers are advised to check if the power compartment of the case has enough space.
Internal use of single 12V and LLC full-bridge resonance structure, DC-DC synchronous rectifier design and all Japanese capacitors, so that the output voltage fluctuation rate of plus or minus 1%, and by the OPP/OVP/SCP/OCP/OTP/UVP six protection mechanism, as well as for PCB circuit boards, "unique moisture-proof coating" process, the foreign body into the protection of the IEC / EN 62368 power supply. With this design, users can enjoy a longer service life even if they live in the hot and humid Taiwan, or if your family really lives by the sea.
The Ø135mm FDB liquid bearing fan provides sufficient internal cooling performance and operates at a full speed of 1600rpm with only 35 dB(A). For an even quieter experience during standby or low load usage, the Hydro PTM PRO ATX3.0 offers an ECO fan switch, which is an intelligent fan shutdown function, that keeps the fan from spinning when the load is below 0rpm and 0 dB(A) on the power supply. The fan will not rotate when the power supply load is below 30%, thus obtaining 0 rpm and 0 dB(A) power supply effect.

The ∆ power supply is 19cm deep and the outer shell is still hardcore with a frosted texture.

∆ AC/DC tables and information on various safety approvals.
Although Intel has released the new ATX12V V3.0 power design guidelines and specifications, ATX 3.0 does not have a certification seal like 80 Plus, but is added to the product box by the power supply manufacturer itself, so how do you know if the power supply has passed the Intel ATX12V V3.0 specification?
In fact, Intel also has a free ATX 3.0 power supply validation test platform, which uses about 6.08 million Taiwan dollars worth of test equipment to conduct six hours of fully automated rigorous testing, including more than 600 test items, and at the end of the test will be summarized in a 90-page test report and design improvement recommendations, which will be published on Intel's website if the manufacturer is willing to disclose it after the test is certified.

∆Certified by Intel ATX12V V3.0 test and published on Intel's website.
Hydro PTM PRO ATX3.0 1200W power cables are fully modularized, allowing users to decide which cables they want to install based on the hardware when installing a PC, saving more cable storage space and providing a more user-friendly cable experience than a straight-out power supply.
Each power supply slot is clearly labeled, the CPU and GPU are separate rather than shared/mixed, and the 12VHPWR is located in the upper right corner of the screen next to the PCIe GPU slot.

∆ Full-module power supply slot setup, more friendly to hide the wires.
Behind the power supply, there is a large cooling grid to help the 135mm FDB fan remove heat from the internal PCB, and there is a small "ECO Fan Switch" which is the temperature control switch mentioned earlier. When the 135mm FDB fan is turned on, it has a smart fan stopping function, and won't rotate until the 30% is loaded.

∆ Large area heat sink and ECO fan switch.

The ∆ power supply side can be styled with an additional Red Dragon / Green Wing pattern sticker.

∆Additional Accessories: Devil's Felt Harness, Screws, 24-Pin Power Activator.
The Hydro PTM PRO ATX3.0 1200W's full-module cable is designed with a flat cable, which is flatter in thickness and more friendly to the cable space of the chassis. If the cable space of the gamer's chassis is shallow in depth, the flat cable can be more friendly to the cable process.
Provides an ATX 20 / 24-Pin motherboard power connector, and labeled which end connects to the PSU so that you don't worry about messing up and plugging it in. There are two cables for the CPU, but one is a straight 4+4 Pin; the other is a y-shaped 4+4 Pin cable, which means that there are a total of three CPU 4+4 Pin connectors, which meets the needs of high-end models of motherboards that have a dual 8-Pin requirement.

∆ One 20/24-Pin cable for motherboard, total length 60mm.

One ∆ processor straight out single head 4+4 Pin cable, total length 700mm.

∆ Processor y-tap dual head 4+4 Pin cable, total length 700+150mm.
The only 12VHPWR wire is a 12+4 Pin connector or 16 Pin, where the lower 12V and ground wires are specified to be 16AWG and require an output level of 9.2A per 12V, and the remaining 4 Pins are 28AWG.
The 12VHPWR consists of 12 pins powered by six 12V and six ground pins. The upper 4 pins are the Sideband Signals signal detection ports, and the manufacturer uses the Sideband Signals' SENSE 0 and SENSE 1 pins to form four different combinations of ground and open pins, allowing a single 12VHPWR cable to deliver up to 600W of power output. Through the SENSE 0 Pin and SENSE 1 Pin within the Sideband Signals, the two pins are arranged in four different combinations of ground and open circuits so that a single 12VHPWR cable, which can provide a maximum of 600W of power output, can be switched to four different power caps of 150W/300W/450W/600W to control and inform the graphics card of the maximum (auxiliary) level of power that it can draw from it.
As for whether the adapter cables provided by NVIDIA or power supply brands are ATX 3.0 compliant, it is difficult for gamers and consumers to know whether these adapter cables are included in the ATX 3.0 and PCIE CEM specifications. In fact, adapter cables are not included in ATX 3.0 and PCIE CEM specification, so it's hard for gamers and consumers to know the pin definitions and specifications of these adapter cables. Therefore, the author would recommend buying a power supply like the one I unboxed today, which supports 12VHPWR cables and has passed Intel's ATX 3.0 specification certification.

The 12+4 Pin 12VHPWR cable wrapped in a ∆ braided outer layer is 700mm long and can supply up to 600W of power from a single cable.

The ∆ single cable replaces the ugly adapter cable and meets the need for a single 16-pin power supply for most NIVIDIA RTX30/40 series graphics cards.
There are a total of three y-shaped 6+2 pin PCIe cables, which means that there are all six PCIe 6+2 pin power connectors.

∆ Three y-shaped PCIe 8 Pin Dual Header cables, total length 70+30mm.
The additional device power cables are available in three different styles, including a 2x SATA, 1x Large 4 Pin Molex (PERIPHERAL) cable ending in a Floppy floppy drive cable, two 2x SATA, 2x Large 4 Pin Molex (PERIPHERAL) cables, and two 4x SATA connector cables, which means that there are a total of 14x SATA, 5x Molex (PERIPHERAL), and 1x Floppy power connectors on all five cables. That's a total of 14x SATA, 5x Molex(PERIPHERAL), 1x Floppy power connectors on all five cables.

∆ One 2x SATA, 1x Large 4 Pin Molex (PERIPHERAL), 1x Floppy cable, total length 500+150+150+100mm.

FSP Triple 8-Pin to 16-Pin PCIe 12VHPWR Adapter Cable Unboxing
In December last year, FSP launched the first free 12VHPWR adapter cable application program. Anyone who purchases FSP HYDRO G PRO / HYDRO PTM PRO / HYDRO PTM X PRO 850W or above models, and GEFORCE RTX4090 / RTX4080 graphics cards, will receive a pair of All Han 12VHPWR adapter cables if they provide proof of purchase and the relevant serial number information is verified. If you provide the proof of purchase and the relevant serial number information and pass the audit, you will receive a pair of 12VHPWR adapter cable for All Han.
In January, the second free application program was launched for consumers who purchased four limited 750W models of HYDRO PTM PRO 750W / HYDRO G PRO 750W / HYDRO GSM PRO 750W / Golden Steel Bullet 750W power supplies and who have already purchased NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX4080 / RTX4070Ti graphics cards. Consumers who have purchased NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX4080 / RTX4070Ti graphics cards can apply for free adapter cables, however, these two free application programs have already closed and cannot be redeemed.
In the first round of the event, 3x PCIe 8-Pin to 16-Pin 12VHPWR adapter cables are provided, using three PCIe 8-Pin slots on the power supply to provide 600W power supply limit, while in the second round of the event, 2x PCIe 8-Pin to 16-Pin 12VHPWR adapter cables are provided, using two PCIe 8-Pin slots on the power supply to provide 450W power supply limit. The second is a 2x PCIe 8-Pin to 16-Pin 12VHPWR adapter cable that uses the two PCIe 8-Pin slots on the power supply to provide a maximum of 450W of power. Although the event has already ended, if gamers are still interested, they can still purchase the first 3x PCIe 8-Pin to 16-Pin 12VHPWR adapter cable (600W) from the flagship store of VisionBuilder on ShrimpPi at the price of NT$490 which is not too expensive to be honest.

Conclusion
The FSP Hydro PTM PRO ATX3.0 1200W power supply is the only 1200W model among FSP's current consumer ATX 3.0 power supplies with native support for 12VHPWR, and there is also a lower 1000W model available in Taiwan. Prices are 1200W: 8290 / 1000W: 7290 NTD, the only difference between the two models.one thousandDollars or so.
The FSP Hydro PTM PRO ATX3.0 1200W, which natively supports 12VHPWR cable, not only complies with ATX12 V3.0 and EPS12V V2.92 standards, but also passed Intel ATX 3.0 and 80 Plus Platinum Conversion Efficiency Platinum Certification, etc. The design of the +12V single power output and LLC full-bridge resonance structure, DC-DC synchronous rectifier, etc. brings stable power supply to PC hardware components. The +12V single circuit power output with LLC full-bridge resonance structure, DC-DC synchronous rectification and other designs bring stable power supply to PC hardware parts, but it is a pity that the author doesn't have several millions of instruments on hand to conduct more detailed tests.
With a 10-year warranty, fully modular flat cables, ECO fan shutdown, and a unique industrial-grade moisture-resistant coating, the product's features are indeed quite appealing to PC DIY gamers, but like the author, the 19cm depth of the chassis is not very friendly to the cable storage space of the chassis power compartment as it depends on whether gamers have enough space in the chassis or not.
