MONTECH METAL DT24 PREMIUM Dual-Tower, Six-Heat-Pipe Cooling Tower Unboxing
MONTECH has launched the METAL DT24 in addition to the PREMIUM deluxe edition, there is also a better CP value and more discreet appearance of the BASE entry version, the difference between the two versions is that the BASE version is equipped with a non-glossy aluminum blackened top cover, and the accessories are less fan speed decompression cable and other places are not the same, so the choice between the two versions mainly depends on the appearance of the demand, and whether you need to reduce the fan rotation to get a better low-noise experience. So the choice between the two versions depends on the appearance requirements, and whether there is a need to reduce the fan speed to get a better low-noise experience.
This time the hands-on is METAL DT24 PREMIUM, the outer box packaging using reflective printing font labeling product model, but it is more puzzling is already printed PREMIUM word why there is an additional sticker of the deluxe version of the extra sticker, the extra sticker makes the outer box quality is reduced a bit, the author will be more recommended to MONTECH do not stick this sticker.

The ∆ METAL DT24 PREMIUM is packaged in an outer box.

Basic specifications and MONTECH contact information are printed on the side of the ∆.

The ∆ nominal can cope with 270W TDP.

∆ The contents are protected by white customized scooped pearl foam.
The METAL DT24 PREMIUM is a dual tower, six heatpipe cooling system with two METAL 120 PWM fans with a maximum speed of 1950 RPM. The surface of the tower is fully black coated with 104 cooling fins, each of which is trimmed to avoid the need for users to identify themselves with their own blood, and more than 100 cooling fins allow for a high cooling surface area of 8553cm². With over 100 cooling fins, the cooling surface area is up to 8553.23cm².

The total number of cooling fins in the ∆Blackened Twin Towers is 104.

∆ The tower uses a mirrored symmetrical setup with a section of memory mounting space cut into the cooling fins rather than a tower offset design.

∆Nickel plated screws and fasteners, copper heat sink base and six heat pipes are also blackened to prevent oxidation over time.

∆The copper heating plate is pre-applied with anti-scratch protective film, remember to remove the protective film before applying the thermal paste.
One of the METAL 120 PWM fans is pre-installed in the center of the tower for ease of transportation, but the installation process requires that it be taken out to secure the grommet screws, and the ARGB top cover of the METAL DT24 PREMIUM needs to be removed in order to install and disassemble the fan and grommet screws in the center.
The CNC machined aluminum top cover features an embossed MONTECH logo in the center, and the reflective material gives the DT24 PREMIUM plenty of credibility. The PREMIUM version of the ARGB top cover is surrounded by an ARGB light bar and is connected to the motherboard by a 5V 3-Pin ARGB to synchronize the lighting effects. The top cover is secured with directional latches, removable and fixed in the direction of the fan mounting wire grooves.

∆ METAL DT24 PREMIUM Decorative top cover with anodized surface.

∆ The top cover uses a directional loading and unloading method, and the orientation reference is provided here.
The METAL DT24 series is equipped with a new model of METAL 120 PWM fan, with a paper specification of up to 1950 RPM to provide 69 CFM airflow and 2.82mm H₂O air pressure, the center uses an iron capped, oil-sealed HBD bearing and a 6-pole motor to drive the METAL 120 PWM, and the screw holes at the corners on both sides are equipped with vibration damping pads. The METAL 120 PWM is powered by a PWM 4-Pin serial connector for easy wiring.

The ∆ METAL 120 PWM fan utilizes steel-capped, oil-sealed HBD bearings and a 6-pole motor.

∆ Vibration damping pads are provided in all four corners.

The ∆ PWM 4-Pin serial connector provides one male and one female.
The METAL DT24 PREMIUM comes with a zippered pouch for each type of accessory, nickel-plated grommets and a back plate protected with perler sponge. The accessory includes a grommet screw set, two sets of fan mounting screws, thermal grease and spatulas, and a fan reduction cable to allow the fan to operate at a lower RPM.

List of ∆ METAL DT24 PREMIUM accessories.

∆Nickel plated LGA1700 backplanes, GA1200/115X backplanes, LGA 1700/115X grommets, AM4/AM5 grommets.

∆ Includes heat dissipating cream and a spatula for application. There is no information on the heat dissipating cream, and it can be used about twice.

∆ Two sets of fan mounting screws.

The ∆ METAL DT24 PREMIUM features a fan bucking cable that allows the fan to operate at a lower speed for applications that require lower operating noise.

The ∆ LGA 1151 foot processor snap-in is shown, and the thermal paste itself is on the thin side to make the application process very easy.

∆Fastening screws require a screwdriver to be threaded through the two holes in the center of the LED board, but unfortunately MONTECH did not include a long screwdriver this time, so you will need to bring your own before installation.
The actual installation show effect show, the installation process is not too much anti-human design installation tower experience is okay, but in the lock screws due to the design, in the installation process will be spring screws aligned bracket, you need to turn a small three-turns in the replacement of the other side of the screw locks, but the thermal paste itself is relatively dilute a little slippery easy to let the second side of the screws to spend time to this part we have to be a little bit of patience.
The ARGB decorative top cover of the METAL DT24 PREMIUM is also quite effective, the physical visual effect does not have the feeling of light beads and the brightness is also very sufficient, the size of the top cover is fitted just right without any additional widening, so users can raise the fan upwards to fix it when installing the RGB memory of the Gomar family, so that it is compatible with the installation of RGB memories.

Summary & Insights
MONTECH's new METAL DT24 PREMIUM air-cooled tower cooler is a dual-tower, six-heat-pipe mainstream scale to enter the market, not quite the same position as last year's Air Cooler 210, which is labeled to be able to cope with a 270W TDP, obviously targeting at the increasing power consumption of Intel's 12th and 13th generation processors, but there's no other way to do that, because at the moment, I don't have such a new platform at hand, so there should be other test articles in the future. But unfortunately, I don't have any newer platforms on hand at the moment, so I'm sure I'll have some other test articles to try out later on.
The METAL DT24 PREMIUM and BASE versions are priced at NT$1,890/1590 respectively. However, the mainstream dual-tower, six-heatpipe tower cooling market in Taiwan is currently dominated by the PA120, and most gamers will buy the PA120 for around NT$900 to NT$1,000 by crossing the ocean, so it's important for the METAL DT24 to be priced more favorably in addition to having the cooling performance that beats the PA120. Therefore, the METAL DT24 should not only have better cooling performance than the PA120, the most important thing is to have a better price, and next month will be the Christmas season, so I think gamers will be looking forward to some special offers from MONTECH.
