In this unboxing, we’re taking a look at the Silent GX3 650W power supply from Kiss Quiet. According to the press release, the Silent GX3 is currently available only in the 650W model, and it comes in both black and white.
The GX3 architecture is a continuation of the one we previously unboxed Silent G3 It’s a fully modular power supply, but the GX3 now features a fixed cable setup to cut costs and further lower the price. In a way, this positions it as a more entry-level model, and it comes with a five-year warranty.
Additional accessories include AC power cords, Velcro cable ties, disposable cable ties, and hand-tightening screws.

The Kiss Quiet Silent GX3 650W is labeled on the packaging as having met the 80 PLUS Gold efficiency standard and complying with the ATX 3.1 specification. however, the author has so far only been able to find a report on the Kiss Quiet Silent G3 750W—which was previously unboxed—in the 80 PLUS database; it appears that Kiss Quiet intends to pursue certification on a series-wide basis.
Next, the author searched for the model number “MX-650ATX” through Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection under the Ministry of Economic Affairs but was unable to find any relevant documents. Later, it was discovered that Kiss Quiet had also listed the MX-650ATX under the MX-500ATX series designation, presumably to consolidate them through series certification. According to the report, the 650W model is manufactured by Shenzhen Xinyangguang Co., Ltd.

The Kiss Quiet Silent GX3 650W power supply measures 140 x 150 x 86 mm, with a length of 140 mm that occupies space in the case’s power supply bay. however, because the power supply cables are designed to extend straight out, there are some requirements for cable management space within the power supply bay to accommodate any excess cables.
Since this power supply is positioned as an entry-level model, it does not feature a smart fan stop switch on the rear panel; the fan itself does not support this feature either. Based on the fan speed curve provided on the packaging, the fan will maintain a certain minimum RPM even under relatively low load conditions.

Once you remove the small screws on the power supply, you can take it apart; however, doing so will remove the warranty sticker, resulting in the loss of warranty coverage. I strongly advise against disassembling the power supply yourself.

The Kiss Quiet Silent GX3 650W uses white flat cables for all of its power connections, and the cables feature an embossed finish.
The motherboard's 24-pin cable is approximately 600 mm long, while the CPU has only one Y-shaped dual-head 4+4-pin cable that is approximately 700+150 mm long, making it suitable for motherboards that require two 8-pin connectors.

The graphics card comes with one PCIe power cable that features two Y-shaped 6+2-pin power connectors, for a total of two PCIe connectors. The cable is approximately 550+150 mm long.

The power supply’s native 12V-2×6 power cable is confirmed to be the 12V-2×6 specification based on the “H++” marking on the power connector. The cable is labeled with a 450W power capacity and is approximately 650 mm long.

Other power cables for peripheral devices include two SATA cables and two large 4-pin power cables, for a total of six power connectors. The ends of the two cables feature large 4-pin power connectors that lay flat at a 180-degree angle, The two cables have a total of four SATA power connectors and two large 4-pin power connectors, with a total cable length of approximately 500+150+150 mm.
If there are a lot of large 4 Pin devices that need to be powered, you might want to be careful about whether there is enough power, but there shouldn't be a lot of devices that need to be powered nowadays.

Kiss Quiet Silent GX3 650W Voltage Stability Test | OCCT and AIDA64 Dual-Stress Test
The barebones test platform was used to test the power supply with the AMD Ryzen 5 8500G We used a processor, a GIGABYTE X870 AORUS INFINITY motherboard, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition 8GB graphics card for testing. For software testing, we used OCCT and a dual-stress test combining AIDA64 FPU and FurMark to provide gamers with two stress test results for reference. We also used HWiNFO 64 to view and record the values reported by the motherboard’s temperature control chip. Please note that software monitoring may show deviations ranging from 1 to 3%, therefore, the data is for reference only.

First, I used OCCT to run simultaneous stress tests on the processor and graphics card, then monitored the data reported by the motherboard’s Super I/O temperature control chip. The +12V remained within a range of 12.312V (maximum) to 12.24V (minimum), Next, the +5V line remained within a range of 5.01V (maximum) to 4.95V (minimum).

Next, AIDA64 FPU + FurMark, which is commonly used to test processor and graphics card stability and temperature, was used to conduct a high-load stress test by double-baking both software programs at the same time, while HWiNFO 64 was used to view the information provided by the motherboard loop chip and record the data.
The data collected after one hour of testing showed that the +12V voltage remained between a maximum of 12.312V and a minimum of 12.24V, while the +5V voltage remained between a maximum of 5.01V and a minimum of 4.98V.

The FLIR ONE PRO Thermal Imaging Camera was used to observe the temperature of the power supply cables during the burn-in test on the bare test bed for your reference.

Kiss Quiet Silent GX3 650W Review Summary | Which Computer Configurations Are Suitable for a 650W Power Supply?
The Kiss Quiet Silent GX3 650W power supply is marketed as a more affordable option for entry-level PC builds on a tight budget, achieved by using direct-output cables and reducing the power output capacity while maintaining the same architecture. However, the warranty period has been reduced from the G3’s 11 years to the GX3’s 5 years. If you’re looking for a longer warranty, we recommend increasing your budget and considering the G3, which we previously reviewed.
Currently, the GX3 offers limited power options—only 650W is available—and can be paired with an RTX 5080 graphics card at most, along with AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D (R7 9850X3D) Just wait until R7-class processors are available to build your system; hardware above that level requires relatively more power, which leaves less headroom if you want to add other devices.
The main things to keep in mind when using this power supply are the graphics card’s PCIe connector and the large 4-pin power connector. There are only two of these connectors in total, so if your hardware requires more power cables, this power supply might not be able to provide them. This power supply is better suited for building systems with “mainstream and entry-level” hardware. It may not be the best choice if you plan to install a large number of components or use “older flagship” hardware.
